Hell Teacher Nube #12 — Yet More Goo Spewing

Expose it to the light. That’ll increase the shrinkage.

Impressions:

I know I’ve said that I’ve had my fill of shounen for a bit, but this was definitely bad by any metric. The pacing especially was horrendous for how there were zero unexpected things in the story. Here’s how to kill it. Okay, I have a plan to do that. I am now enacting my plan to do what you said. It’s not working. Wait, you’re here to help. Yep, that did it. Somehow, this took the entire episode. This was barely enough for a monster of the week five minute wrapup, yet somehow is the culmination of a multi episode season long arc about a skull-stealing furry dude learning the power of… believing in yourself? The adulation of children? I’m not even sure, to be honest.

A better script would have at least had some actual failures, organically discovering its weakness instead of announcing it, actual adversity and suspense. It would also have had an actual antagonist instead of having two dudes wrassle a giant phallic sky fish so that there could be plans, counterplans, twists and turns, or even an actual fight, but we made our bed and now we have to lie in it, filled with disgusting fish goo spewed all over everybody except for the love interest, lady or furry. Or maybe it was since it did end up on that one girl, which would absolutely be in character for old shounen.
