Aksys Games, in collaboration with European distributor Reef Entertainment, have today announced that the crime-solving mystery visual novel Path of Mystery: A Brush with Death will launch on 26th February 2026 for the Nintendo Switch.
Path of Mystery: A Brush with Death is reportedly structured like a TV drama, with each chapter in the game presented in the form of an episode, so cliffhangers and twisting storylines should be expected. The game also features unique characters and a talented voice cast to help bring the mystery alive. As part of the gameplay experience players will need to investigate, interact and uncover the truth behind an old mystery.
About: Take on the role of first year college student Doppo Akazawa who has joined the Mystery Research Club. Their first research assignment leads them to Narumizawa to investigate the 30-year-old murder case of a famous landscape artist. Though irregularities were found and the primary suspect died in an apparent suicide, the case was closed. However, Doppo possesses something that those in charge thirty years ago didn’t have; the power to travel back in time. Unexpected new clues are revealed as you use your secret ability to peer into the past, viewing key items and events in a new light. Aksys Games will be localizing and publishing the game in North America, with Reef Entertainment handling European publishing and distribution duties.
