Give the flowers a break, lady.
Impressions:
And ironically, here we have the opposite from the previous show, both in being more dramatic and in reversing the genders. And yet, still winds up being almost exactly the same. People still appearing in explosions of pastels, the entire thing being internally narrated by the girl, and copious amounts of silly faces to be ‘funny’. I find this one a bit more tolerable, for the obvious reasons after the previous. They actually interact with each other, they both have personalities, and it isn’t just having conniptions over every little thing.
That said, it is waaaay more corny and over the top. Especially the entire convenience store drunk-fight. I mean, great that we’re picking fights with drunks. But also, she trails roses literally everywhere she goes and explodes in more roses whenever she does anything. And then there’s him randomly grabbing her to pick her up so he can say how girly she is. It’s actually ridiculous instead of pretending like walking five feet apart is the craziest thing ever. Also, provides some contrast between the moping and nonsense instead of being entirely silly faces and nonsense.
Still can’t say I have any urge to continue with it since I’m not all that big into shoujo in the first place, but this at least seems actually sillier and a bit meatier of the two.
