It feels like it’s been years since I last saw a school festival cavalry bit.
Used to be every show had to have one back in the LN romcom school harem days.
Impressions:
Not the most interesting episode, nor character, and unfortunately, it’s spilling over into the next episode as well. Well, I think. The problem with these characters whose bit is that they’re too self-sacrificing and accommodating is that you have someone point that out, they say that okay, they’ll try to accommodate them, and that’s the end of it. But that’s just continuing to do the same thing.
Which is exactly how this one went. People resent having flaws pointed out and react emotionally. There’s no emotion here, just a few obnoxious overreactions. It’s a little disappointing too because there’s shades of him in her people-pleasing behavior as well, and there could’ve been a good contrast between them. Or maybe play up the gentle dom side of her for a bit more fanservice/comedy so those scenes were a little more fun and less yelly. Maybe that is the character revelation they’re meandering towards, that her praise kink is actually control issues, but I suspect they think her arc is done having acquiesced to the accusation that she acquiesces too much.
