Lots of sitting on people this week.
Impressions:
I would say that the one good thing about this episode is that the training arc seems to finally be over, but it ends with the declaration that they’re moving on to a tournament arc. A tournament arc for a couple of the side characters, to determine who’s the supreme sister, which is totally different from the ‘main’ quest to become the supreme commander, and definitely won’t have a bunch of them passing him around to all do their one little fanservice bit in turn. Maybe they can all even have a training prep before the tournament! Oh boy! This is only making me feel more forgiving towards Material Brave and kind of nostalgic for it.
But this episode… Once again, it would’ve been greatly improved had there been some crisis that they were responding to as an inciting reason instead of simply “I felt like it.” It’s not like there wasn’t at least 10 minutes of just standing around that could’ve been used for that instead. Or that exceptionally pointless narrator interjection. An entire paragraph to say that her power is Buddhism based and very mysterious. Thanks. Very useful. Great talk. Hardly different from last week, just with a different character. Aren’t we supposed to be hunting down evil supervillains?
