The good guys sure seem to have been entirely unprepared for the most obvious thing to happen.
Impressions:
Wow. Both Thursday shows putting out a decent showing this week. Will wonders never cease. Though the bar is much lower for this one, even with the long recap to start. And then more recap after the OP. Gotta fit that fanservice in somewhere after all. But some actual fighting for a reason besides training? Back and forth between the two sides instead of one being a motionless punching bag? Stakes? No random asides from the narrator to announce that the horny monster lady has transformed and transforming means that she’s stronger now? Who locked the writers that kept adding pointless padding in a closet?
All that said, the animation is still only barely at the mediocre level, and unlike the previous show going a bit too far with the spectacle, this probably needed to go a bit further. Ironically, given the fanservice, the violence is very PG rated at best, so there’s not a lot of impact, nor is the ending very convincing when I don’t think a single character who existed for more than fifteen seconds to date, protagonist or antagonist, has come out of any fight with anything more severe than a hankering to be molested. Even just Freezing level of shock-gougings would have given the fight more weight and made things more impactful. Still, this is what I would have preferred to see all along. Just in time for things to be over.
