Sentenced to be a Hero #12 — Monster Mash

Yes, yes, everybody’s a monster.

Impressions:

Extra long episode that really didn’t need the extra eight or so minutes. The first ten minutes were solid, though Spriggan went down with barely more than a whimper, before being double merc’ed by Rhyno, who’s Boojum2. Which is also funny because the small part of the episode that involved the heroes was just them sitting around reciting all the ways in which Rhyno’s ultra suspicious. Speaking of Boojum, as expected, he’s still bumming around as well. I’d rather see more of either of them than this one boring ass priest and his ten minute rambling lectures and recap. There has yet to be a scene with him that hasn’t sucked.

As a last episode though, at least without a continuation announced yet (though one rumored), I’m not a fan. Twenty minutes of setup for a sequel that may or may not come, and may not be for years even if it does. But even the setup was kind of dumb. Kivia’s uncle ranted like a lunatic as soon as he was confronted and then she was… sentenced. But, again, we have yet to see a single negative of being a hero, so this punishment is… magic powers, getting to hang out with her friends, and to continue doing what she was before. The horror of it. Also, some other city was attacked. Off screen. You can’t see it. But it was very important. We’re meant to be excited about that?
