Marvelous Inc, in partnership with developers Vanillaware, have announced that Muramasa: Revenant Blades, a reforged vision of the popular action RPG Muramasa: Rebirth, will be heading to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC in 2027.
Muramasa: The Demon Blade was originally released in 2008 for the Nintendo Wii before the game was ported to the PlayStation Vita in 2013 with new features. Muramasa: Revenant Blades has been refined for modern hardware with support for up to 4K resolution, new combat and weapon systems, as well as additional modes and gameplay options. More importantly this version of the game will also feature all characters from past versions of the game.
About: Deep in Japan’s past, a great conflict erupts over the ownership of fabled and powerful samurai swords forged by the legendary Senji Muramasa. These swords grant their owner both incredible power and a madness that can be sated only by blood. As various factions clash over these mythical weapons, demons and evil spirits drawn to the bloodshed rampage across the land. These fables explore the fates of six diverse characters whose lives are thrown into chaos by these revenant blades.

In addition to its announcement it has also been confirmed that Muramasa: Revenant Blades will receive both a standard physical edition and a deluxe physical edition containing a copy of the game with an artbook, with pre-orders starting at retailers in the coming weeks. Digital editions will also be available with details yet to be confirmed.
