Impressions:
Just for the record, the OP for this episode was deeply corrupted, both in the visuals melting and audio distortions/artifacting everywhere. The meta emphasis is good, but goddamn, that was a painful 90 seconds. The rest of the episode was continuing the mess that this whole ending arc has been. For the first half, it seemed to be mostly about KAngel/Ame now being tried for the negatives of the whole parasocial internet star thing now that the protections of being the top idol are stripped away. But every single one of these applies to just fame in general, and especially the idol industry that anime so loves, and especially especially the other trio, without much acknowledgement of any of it. Also, you’re telling me the world famous internet megastar is destitute? All these celebrities, or more relevantly, wildly popular internet streamers who were ruined by scandals were only ruined in the popularity sense. They still had their millions to wipe away the tears.
Anyway, then KAngel ‘kills’ Ame and instead it goes into her origin story, which is pretty much the same rehash of all the others. She was poor. Her mother abused her. She was nearly raped and abused some more for it, abused by her classmates, and then actually raped. Then fed her Alice in Wonderland imaginary friend to THE DARKNESS, vomited up some bugs from her eyes, and spawned an entire swarm of KAngel spiders. …Uh, sure. I’m not sure I even want to follow along at this point. Just misery on grotesquery on misery.
