The wait for the iconic magical girl anime, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, in the UK is nearly over, as new retail listings on Amazon UK have today revealed that Season 1 of Sailor Moon will be released on the 24th August 2026 as a Steelbook Edition Blu-Ray. That’s not all, as these retail listings on Amazon UK have also confirmed the release dates for Sailor Moon R (Season 2), Sailor Moon S (Season 3), Sailor Moon SuperS (Season 4) and Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (Season 5) as well as visuals for each steelbook edition.
Crunchyroll originally announced Sailor Moon for a UK release back in October 2024 at MCM Comic Con in London, with a poster on the side of the Crunchyroll booth, but it wasn’t until earlier this year when it was confirmed that the series would be released as individual complete season sets in steelbook form. Since then news of its impending UK release was quiet, that was until a rating on the BBFC website revealed that Season 1 had been awarded a 15 (due to its themes of Sexual Violence, Sexual Threat, Mild Violence and Themes of Weight Loss) with Season 2 receiving a 12 rating.
Ratings aside, thanks to these retail listings on Amazon UK we now have confirmation that Crunchyroll (UK) are going ahead with individual season sets in steelbook form for Sailor Moon, starting with Season 1 on the 24th August 2026. As a reminder the series will be released uncut in both English and Japanese and presented in its original 4:3 aspect ratio.

Based on the disc count, and disc contents, we can safely assume that Crunchyroll are using the same disc materials as those released by Madman Entertainment in Australia. These featured better visual quality compared to the original VIZ Media releases of Sailor Moon on Blu-Ray in the US. Of course, we won’t know for certain until the sets have been released. Based on the visuals above it also looks like that each set will include an art card as well.
As it stands Sailor Moon – Season 1 will be available from 24th August 2026 as a Steelbook Edition Blu-Ray in the UK with the remaining seasons to follow shortly after. Majority of these sets are currently available to pre-order on Amazon UK, and we expect that other retailers will follow with their retail listing soon. Either way, if you are a Sailor Moon fan in the UK then the wait is nearly over.
