Vomit more sparkles.
Impressions:
This Brady Bunch premise will never stop being completely insane to me for how common it is in anime. Who dates someone, has a wedding, plans to move, and their child is not just not invited to any of it, but is intentionally, and successfully, kept entirely in the dark about the existence of all of it. Even just moving. We packed and moved all of your belongings to a new place. You’re not allowed to see it or participate this in any way, but it will also somehow not impact your current life in the slightest.
Enough delaying and dancing around the actual episode, though at the same time, what is there to say? It’s another one of these boy-harem things where she suddenly moves in with a bunch of random dudes who hover around her while she does her best to be their maid, making stupid faces. So more ‘comedy’ than ‘drama’, I guess. These archetypes haven’t changed in like 40 years, from Fruits Basket to Ouran to this. Angry Spice, who’s gruff and doesn’t need her taking care of him but always looks out for her, Emo Spice who’s having really big emotions and people don’t get him, Quirky Spice who’s the youngest, and Glasses Spice who wears glasses. If anything, it’s creepier than usual since they’re pretty handsy and she looks about 13, with parents who immediately dump her into a crowd of unknown teenage boys and piss off to Kokomo.
