Are we not going back to the main plot at all?
I think I’m calling it on 20th Century Electric Catalog. It was yet another episode where the antagonist dude just ranted incoherently “THIS CANNOT BE HOW CAN THIS BE THIS CANNOT BE” while the protagonists whimpered and whimbled about how insecure they were. It then ended on the reveal that the baddie has a massive shrine in his basement where he keeps the missing brother’s corpse wrapped up in wires that he caresses. I cannot stand literally any character and the writing/setting doesn’t make an iota of sense, and not in the fun way because the pacing is a brick.
Impressions:
Another pretty filler episode, and the weirdest part by a long shot of this supposed ghost story is when they tried to hide in a random room and couldn’t help but point out how crazy the room was for being Japanese. Which IS true, but also where is this coming from? And they literally instantly leave the room and return to the European mansion hallway. With its other ‘normal’ European doors and rooms. It’s on screen for barely five seconds, but they still felt the need to announce it.
Anyway, it’s supposedly an Io episode, but it’s just “she’s clumsy and sometimes is insecure about it.” Which is also where she lands at the end of it. I think Castor actually had more focus and development than she did despite her getting the intro and outro. Not even a speech telling her to feel better, which still would’ve been dumb. Just an episode to fill up twenty minutes without advancing anything.
Next Episode:
Back to the beaches.
