New retail listings on Amazon UK have revealed that Acorn Media International, which is a subsidiary of RLJ Entertainment (formerly Image Entertainment) and part of the AMC Network, will distribute selective HIDIVE (or Sentai Filmworks) anime titles in the UK starting with My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge! and Sword of the Demon Hunter on the 26th October 2026.
At the time of writing both My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge! and Sword of the Demon Hunter have appeared for pre-order on Amazon UK with full product descriptions. My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha even has visuals of a modified US box art featuring a BBFC rating, updated distributor logos, and text saying “Licensed solely for sale and viewing in the United Kingdom”. Thus further confirming that another distributor is planning to release Anime on Blu-ray in the UK.

As a reminder HIDIVE (or Sentai Filmworks) are part of the AMC Network, which Acorn Media International is also part of, and as such we can assume that they (HIDIVE / Sentai Filmworks) are looking to self-publish their titles in the UK through subsidiary companies rather than using a UK distributor. As an example titles released in the US by Sentai Filmworks have been licensed and distributed by different companies in the UK, with MVM Entertainment usually being the biggest contributor for newer Sentai Filmwork related titles.
The entrance of a new company distributing anime in the UK does come as a bit of surprise, but if it means we get to have more anime on Blu-Ray in the UK then I am all for it. I do wonder if AMC Network (and its relative subsidiaries) were also involved with Disney+ gaining access to HIDIVE (or Sentai Filmworks) related titles in the UK, as during the past few months we have seen lots of titles being added. Most of which will be distributed by MVM Entertainment.
Regardless, as it stands both My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge! and Sword of the Demon Hunter are currently listed for pre-order on Amazon UK and are expected to be released on the 26th October 2026.
