TRAILMARK Games have recently announced that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants will be released physically on 9th October 2026 and digitally on 4th September 2026.
Introduced as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants Ninja Edition this version will feature all of the content found in the original release, which was distributed by GameMill Entertainment, but enhanced with increased resolution (1080p handheld, 4K docked), 60 FPS, faster loading times, HDR support and improved graphics. Additionally, Master Splinter and Casey Jones will also be available as playable characters.
As a reminder Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants was originally an arcade game released in 2017 as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and was developed by RAW Thrills as a tie-in game to the popular 3D animated Nickelodeon TV Series of the same name. Interestingly the game hit arcades the same year as the final season of the series began its TV broadcast, but more importantly this arcade game attempted to replicate the arcade experience of the 90’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games released by KONAMI whereby up to 4 players could play at once and battle against iconic characters from the series in a side-scrolling beat-em-up style.
In 2024 GameMill Entertainment released the game onto consoles (and Windows PC) as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants. This console release of the arcade game will retain all of the aspects found in the original arcade version, including the voice cast, but will expand upon it with 3 additional stages and 6 additional boss battles. This Nintendo Switch 2 version, which is relasing in 2026, will feature the same game content as previous console releases but introduces two new characters and has updated performance and visuals.
