All hail the bureaucracy.
Impressions:
Another episode that’s about three minutes of content, two minutes of padding, and fifteen minutes of debriefings. The ‘fight’ here was especially obnoxious because it kept doing the “explosion and smoke obscurs everything” nonsense. Towa got an arm cut off… shown as a black screen. They couldn’t even animate the green girl moving. Or catching a blade. A couple seconds of a lazy-ass Dragonball-like sword swinging loop, and a single punch was it for anything approaching choreography.
And that was the high point of the episode. Which it took sixteen goddamned minutes to get to. We had to spend the first two thirds of the episode with the peanut gallery, listening to them begging the good buys to continue doing the same thing that they’ve been doing the entire time, complete with flashbacks recapping it. Each also got a ten second backstory spat out of nowhere to say that they did it. And after the ‘fight’, it was time for, you guessed it, another pre-mission debriefing before cutting to the good guys having already invaded the secret lab and killed in a sea of flames and destruction peacefully knocked out all the scientists. Cool. Glad we’re being shown the exciting parts of this story, the meetings.
