A new listing on the Nintendo eShop has revealed that publisher ARES will launch the Japanese visual novel ONE. globally for the Nintendo Switch on 22nd December 2023. ONE. is also available to pre-order (albeit for an eye-watering £58.50) and even has a playable demo available to download via the Nintendo eShop. A Windows PC version will also be available globally on same day via Steam.
This Nintendo Switch release of ONE. brings the classic story to a modern console, with English text support, but also improves upon the original Japanese release with updated art, animations, and features.
About: What tied me to this world. 1998, winter. I was just a regular student until another world was born in me. Like softly falling snow, it blanketed and began to bury my everyday life. It was only then that I realized…
That there were certain things in my life that never changed. The same familiar scenery. The warmth of the one I loved, who filled me with a joy I never noticed. Their existence tied me to this world. It was when I first started to want these bonds, to want that special someone, that time began to pass, and sunlight caused the season to really shine. When it did, which world was I standing in, and who was holding my hand?
It’s also worth mentioning that ONE. will be released physically in Japan, with this physical release also set to release on 22nd December 2023, and will most likely feature the same language text options as the digital release. The reason we believe this is because the game on the Japanese eShop lists English as a supported text language (and the demo on the Japanese eShop is the same as that released on the UK eShop).
Regardless, ONE. is another Japanese visual novel that will be making its way outside of Japan and will be available digitally worldwide via Nintendo eShop on 22nd December 2023. ONE. will also be available globally on Steam for Windows PC on the same day.
