Anime Limited, otherwise known as All The Anime, have today announced on social media that the feature-length-film GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM, which is a continuation of GUNDAM SEED storyline, will receive a UK Cinematic release from 23rd March 2024.
The Scotland based anime distributor have not provided any specific details about this cinematic release, such as screening locations and cinema chains, but based on the promotional trailer this film it seems the film will only be shown in UK cinemas on 23rd & 24th March 2024. We do know that the film will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
About: In C.E.75, the fighting still continues. There are independence movements, and aggression by Blue Cosmos… In order to calm the situation, a global peace monitoring agency called COMPASS is established, with Lacus as its first president. As members of COMPASS, Kira and his comrades intervene into various regional battles. Then a newly established nation called Foundation proposes a joint operation against a Blue Cosmos stronghold.
GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM takes place two years after the events of GUNDAM SEED DESTINY, which is a sequel series to GUNDAM SEED; so watching both series before seeing the film is advised in order to fully enjoy the story. That aside GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM debut in Japanese cinemas earlier this year (26th January 2024 to be exact) and achieved $7.2m in three days.
We can expect Anime Limited to reveal more details about this UK cinematic release of GUNDAM SEED FREEDOM in the coming weeks, but for the time being it is planned to be shown in the UK on 23rd and 24th March 2024.
