Unveiled during the PlayStation State of Play presentation earlier this week, developers Everstone Studio and publisher NetEase Games have officially confirmed that the open world RPG Where Winds Meet will release onto the PlayStation 5.
NetEase Games describes Where Winds Meet as a one-of-a-kind adventure inspired by Wuxia, a genre of fiction and cinema featuring martial artists from ancient China often shown performing superhuman feats, as players will follow the journey of a wandering swordsman or swordswoman through China during a period of turmoil. During the game players will not only experience open world exploration and RPG combat, but they’ll be puzzles and quests to undertake and various towns and countrysides to explore.
About: The background of the story is set in China in the tenth century, during the turbulent era of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Players will play the role of a young swordsman or swordswoman and embark on a journey to uncover the mystery of their identity. In the brand-new trailer first released during the PlayStation State of Play, players can choose the gender of their protagonist as male or female and use their combat skills to overcome the challenges in Where Winds Meet as they see fit.
The latest trailer, of which debut during the PlayStation State of Play this week, debut new bosses such as Rongyuan – a strict female officer and excellent craftsman, and the River God – a gang leader pretending to be a fish seller, in addition to some of the combat and fighting styles that players will feature.
Where Winds Meet is being developed for the PlayStation 5 with further details of the game to be announced at a later date. In the meantime additional details about the game can be found on the official website.
