KONAMI have recently announced Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection for Nintendo Switch and Steam, a collection which sees older Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG games brought to modern platforms with online trading and multiplayer support across selective titles.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection is being released to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game and will contain video game adaptations of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game released between 1998 and 2004 in a single collection. The complete line-up of titles planned for this collection have not yet been revealed, however KONAMI have confirmed that the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters titles released on GameBoy platforms will be included in this collection.
Titles currently announced:
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (1998/GAME BOY)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters II: Dark Duel Stories (1999/GAME BOY, GAME BOY COLOR)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories (2000 JP, 2002 US, 2003 EU/GAME BOY COLOR)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelist (2000/GAME BOY COLOR)
Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 6, Expert 2 (2001/GAME BOY ADVANCE).
Not only will these games be available on Nintendo Switch and Windows PC as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection, but selective titles in the collection will also feature online support for multiplayer battles and card trading. Games that originally featured local battles and card trading (via the GameBoy Link Cable) will be upgraded to support these online functions. In addition to online support these games will also feature save and load functionality, an option that wasn’t present in the original releases.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection will be released physically and digitally for the Nintendo Switch, with physical copies also including a random Harpie’s Feather Duster card, as well as digitally for Windows PC (via Steam) in the near future. Further details will be revealed in the future, but a teaser website is also available.
