Just kiss already.
Impressions:
Another episode that I know enough about the games to recognize as being firmly directed at purely fans. And I do mean games here, since Devola and Popola are much more for the original NieR than this one, which makes the long flashback and focus on two unimportant side characters out of nowhere who just show up to basically open a door and hold off a handful of the generic enemies that have been slaughtered in the thousands by the main characters is not exactly building up the finale so much as just continuing the obligatory offing of all named characters.
For the other third of the episode, 9S has yet another episode of existential angst where he spends the entire time whining about how sad it is that his not-girlfriend is dead, now to himself with all his makeup on. But no matter how pretty you make me look, or how much you recap the plot yet again, I am so angsty and just want to stab everything. Great talk, myself. We’ve definitely… recapped the last couple episodes without actually advancing his character or his temper tantrum towards any sort of conclusion.
