Exciting times hunting demons.
Impressions:
Unless the next episode picks up significantly, this may be it on this one for me. It’s just so boring. Most of the episode is spent just sitting around, either eating or drinking, while reciting their backstories. Aside from the guy who says that he totally has an interesting backstory, but that’s for another episode. Ostensibly, they’re searching for a crossroads-killer demon, which happens to have a woman’s scream, and there’s only one female around, who happens to also hang out next to where the murders keep happening. “They”, because there’s another demon hunting it for revenge on his raped/murdered wife and is just a chill demon who… uh… likes hanging out otherwise. This is just told to us flat out through a big ol’ info dump. Which also puts a real damper on the whole demon schtick if there’s also a bunch of them who are just random innocuous guys without an insatiable lust for human flesh or whatever.
That’s also the extent of the whole demon hunt. And neither of them think anything of it. So we talk about tree nomenclature for a little bit to fizzle out the episode on… tree nomenclature. Not even some ominous person watching from the shadows or anything. They just… go home. Having spent the entire episode talking. To all of a whopping three people. So which is it going to be? The obvious suspect, or a completely random third party? I’m joking. I already know that the girl is a recurring character and it’s the latter.
