The organizers and production team for Your Lie in April – The Musical, which is currently being performed at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London, have recently announced that the show will close on 11th August 2024.
The show, which adapts the Japanese romantic drama manga series by Naoshi Arakawa, into a musical performance was originally expected to run until 21st September 2024, however as of yesterday the show will now close earlier than expected with its new closing date set for 11th August 2024. The show will continue to run as normal until this date, but those who have purchased tickets beyond this date will be contacted by e-mail. The producers also had this to say about the positive response and success of Your Lie in April – The Musical:
“We are proud to have made history by bringing the first manga musical to the West End and to have given the opportunity for the first 100 per cent Asian and Southeast Asian cast to perform in a West End musical. Our journey from two sold out concerts at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane to a full West End production at The Harold Pinter Theatre (hosting its first musical since 2016) turned around in a matter of weeks due to popular demand. We are immensely proud of the show and the amazing work from the creative team, cast, crew, and musicians – and we thank them for their dedication and incredible work. It is particularly exciting to us how many people made Your Lie in April their first ever West End musical experience. And to our audiences who dressed the part and cheered them on, we say Bravo!”
