Why are we here? To be giblets for the antagonist, apparently.
Nier’s back to production issues and is off this week for a recap episode. At least it made it a whole six episodes this time.
Impressions:
I love how the protagonists just sit there and watch literally everybody get dismembered. Also, that they make this whole big thing about the zombie army, then she rolls up with a couple bloated fatties who make some puddles and that’s enough to chop up all minor characters. What even was the bug dude’s plan? He tells everybody to go on ahead, then turns around and runs after them, only to instantly have his leg chopped off. Then they wait for her to catch up, whereupon everybody cuts limbs chopped off. Almost makes you forget the weirdness of Belle screaming in rage being such emotion that it caused the mermaid to undergo a sex change to be a better mate for her. Uh, sure.
Then we get to the big final confrontation of this bizarre arc. The traitor lady pulls him into the… uh… blood dimension…? …where she lets him continue stabbing her while the rabbit boy keeps trying to explain what the hell is going on. Her entire diaologue to this point has been “ADONIS!” What a villain. But it turns out the actual evil was the sword, so Belle kills it and Adonis’s sword-rotting touch… uh… turns her into sparklies? I dunno, the episode ends at this point. Oh, also, Adonis has a magic touch that rots swords. Probably forgot to mention that.
