Following on from its announcement earlier in the year, Crunchyroll have today added 98 Episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai, both dubbed and subbed, to the streaming platform for UK subscribers.
As a reminder Dragon Ball Z Kai is the ‘true to the manga cut’ version of the Dragon Ball Z anime, and sees filter content removed and some scenes changed or reanimated. Episodes 1 – 98 are presented in 4:3 aspect ratio (it’s original aspect ratio) while the remaining episodes, released on Blu-Ray & DVD as ‘The Final Chapters‘, are presented in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Dragon Ball Z Kai also features a slightly different English Dub cast compared to the original Dragon Ball Z series, and it is this cast that is retained for Dragon Ball Super.
Dragon Ball Z Kai: Horrifyingly evil villains from the darkest corners of space and time are colliding with Earth, and Goku—the strongest fighter on the planet—is all that stands between humanity and extinction. Joined in battle by the courageous Z Fighters, Goku travels to distant and dangerous realms in search of the magic powers of the seven Dragon Balls—and a good fight!
As it stands only 98 Episodes have been added, which covers the Saiyan, Namek, Frieza, Android & Cell sagas, with the remaining episodes (known as Dragon Ball Z: The Final Chapters) being added at a later date. The addition of Dragon Ball Z Kai to Crunchyroll is long overdue, as it was originally expected back in March. Either way, if you are looking to watch Dragon Ball Z in a trimmed down, slightly updated, form then you can now do so on Crunchyroll in the UK.
