MVM Entertainment have recently taken to social media to reveal that they will release Baki (Netflix series), Dark Gathering (Season 1), Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy (Season 1) and Drifting Dragons (Season 1) on Blu-Ray in the UK during 2025. The distributor also reconfirmed that Made in Abyss – The Golden City of the Scorching Sun would be released in 2025 in addition to a standard Blu-Ray release of Tenjho Tenge.
At the time of writing MVM Entertainment have not provided any specific details on when (or how) they plan to release each title, only that they will be coming to the UK in 2025. They did however reveal that all will become available as early bird pre-order deals on Anime-On-Line in the near future. In the meantime here is a rundown of each series that has been licensed, and will be released in the UK next year.
Baki: While martial arts champion Baki Hanma trains hard to surpass his legendary father, five violent death row inmates descend upon Tokyo to take him on.
Dark Gathering – Season 1: Keitaro takes a part-time job tutoring the child prodigy Yayoi. Little does he know she’s a gifted medium hell-bent on finding the spirit behind her mother’s vanishing and she’s gravely determined to drag Keitaro into a terrifying supernatural world.
Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy: One of the most powerful demon lords in history has been sealed away for a thousand years. When he finally awakens, he is reincarnated as…a 10-year-old boy?! Now under the care of the girl who released him, the demon lord Leonis must navigate the perils of Excalibur Academy!
Drifting Dragons: Dragons are on the menu as the crew of the airship Quin Zaza sets out on a hunt. If they fail, empty stomachs will be the least of their worries.
Made in Abyss – The Golden City of the Scorching Sun: No one has ventured into the sixth layer of the Abyss and remain unchanged. No one returns from their Last Dive, and no one knows what happened to those who delved further. Even with the possession of a White Whistle, an ominous specter hovers above Riko, Reg and Nanachi as they advance down to the sixth layer, the Capital of the Unreturned. The pathways are more treacherous, the environment harsher, and the creatures even more dangerous, but the most unsettling thing of all is the ruins of the Golden City. Here each of the delvers will be forced to forge their own destinies and paths as they investigate the city’s mysterious origins and the strange beings who still dwell there. The answer to their questions, as always, lies somewhere ahead, down and forward, in MADE IN ABYSS: THE GOLDEN CITY OF THE SCORCHING SUN.
Tenjho Tenge: Souichiro and Bob want to rule their new school, but just as they begin cracking heads, their plan is shot to hell. First there’s the Natsume sisters and their Juuken Club. If the older sister, Maya, isn’t kicking their ass, then the younger sister, Aya, is trying to force feed Souichiro and make him her husband! Then there’s the Student Executive Council that sends executioners to “educate” anyone who questions the council’s authority! Their education is just beginning!
As it stands all of the above titles are planned to be released in 2025 by MVM Entertainment, but specific release details have not yet been provided. Once we know these details we’ll be sure to share them.
