What even is this UI?
Impressions:
I guess we’ll stick with one reincarnated old dude show to the next, and this is definitely a dozen steps down. Both even some how more tiresome of a set of cliches, and even more humorless. He has status screens that he can pull up, which are, for some reason, completely blank until he presses on them and then the text which I guess only he can see appears. It makes you question if the people making this even understand how computer interfaces work, to say nothing of RPG status screens or any of the cliches it’s drowning itself in at all. I really have to wonder what’s going through the staff’s heads when they make these things. They have to know that it’s all wrong. But they go ahead and just do it anyway.
Anyway, after going through all his cheat powers and explaining a few times that he’s totally in a fantasy world, we transition to the obligatory harem and basic economy portions that these things always do. Everybody understands the concept of reselling and/or a middleman. It’s a little weird you’re doing that here since that’s already what online shopping is, but okay. He resells clothespins, the hottest thing since sliced bread, which also hasn’t been invented yet, and is the awe of every thirsty teenage girl within a four mile radius. Same as ever. Then the episode unceremoniously ends with some other little waif who can also only be saved by this brave second hand reseller of clothespins. Talk about a gripping narrative. Who couldn’t wait to see what comes next.
