And we are finally done with being teleported and given cheat powers.
Quasi-Impressions:
I’m going to use this as a dumping ground for the rest of the Sunday shows because I blipped through all three and really don’t want to actually sit down and fully engage with any of them. This one’s the easiest. It’s just a kid’s show. He gets his power from a sky dragon based on the bravery in his heart, as it declares at least four times. It’s airing in a time slot that’s often stuff like Gundam, but it’s still primetime on a Saturday, so… whatever. There’s nothing at all interesting about it. It’ll sell some toys. Even the livestreaming aspect of it is a child’s level. The baddie throws subscribe buttons like projectiles.
As for the Mappa animator thing, that was less of the same as the first episode. They hang out the entire episode, just puttering around town. She warns them that more monsters are coming and then… they show up. So this time, she summons her magical cubicle to animate an Itano Missile Circus to one-shot them all. Thrilling. The plot is not going anywhere, nor are the characters, and it’s still a studio constantly in the news about abusive work environments making a show about the glory of working in your cubicle extra hard to make anime. If there’s a twist or any bit of self-awareness coming, it’s showing no sign of it. And Princess Lessons was similarly puttering around for the entire episode with the stalker prince stalkng until someone pointed out that they never OFFICIALLY called off the engagement, so the other girl shows up and yells the title of the show itself. Also thrilling.
