Unboxing: Bocchi the Rock! The Complete Season (Blu-Ray) [UK]

The wait is nearly over, as Bocchi the Rock! – The Complete Season will finally be making its way to Blu-Ray in the UK (on the 12th May 2025 to be exact), and courtesy of Crunchyroll (UK) we are now going to unbox it. Yes, it’s real, and, Yes, it is a subtitle only release.

As a reminder, Bocchi the Rock! – The Complete Season contains all 12 episodes (in Japanese with English subtitles) from the first season (as a second season was announced earlier this year) across 2 Blu-Ray discs in a single set. The episodes themselves are split evenly across each disc, with the second disc having all of the bonus features.

Synopsis: On the fateful night of October 31st, a Curtain falls upon Shibuya. Geto and his cursed alliance are waiting to spring their trap when Gojo storms in, as Itadori and other Jujutsu Sorcerers gather outside the Curtain. Will humans or Curses laugh in the end?

Just like previous Crunchyroll titles released in the UK, this Standard Edition Blu-Ray release of Bocchi the Rock! comes with a carded sleeve that slides over the amaray case. Once removed you’ll find some different artwork on the front cover of the inlay sleeve, but the rest of the artwork (on the back cover and spine) remain the same. Opening the case up will reveal two Blu-Ray discs, with the four main characters (or band members) split across each disc. The inlay sleeve also has reverse artwork that shines the spotlight on each member of the Kessoku Band.

Blu-Ray Disc Contents:

12 Episodes across 2 Blu-Ray Discs (Region A & B)

Japanese with English Subtitles

Bonus Features

Episode Previews

Bandmate Promos

Kessoku Band Show Promos

Bocchi the Rock! The Teaser

Textless Opening & Closing Songs

Subtitle only release:

Bocchi the Rock! is a subtitle only release, and despite being an Aniplex related title (which are known for having subtitles that jump between the bottom and top of the screen) the subtitles for this title remain at the bottom of the screen. There are exceptions to this, such as translations for signs or text, but dialogue subtitles do remain at the bottom of the screen during episodes and bonus features. The subtitles are also the traditional white font that Crunchyroll use for all of their Blu-Ray releases.

Bocchi the Rock! The Complete Season will be available on Blu-Ray from the 12th May 2025 in the UK via Crunchyroll. In the meantime Crunchyroll subscribers can stream the series (and the ReCap movies) on the Crunchyroll platform in the UK.
