It’s weird that only one character never changes clothes.
For the record, I was planning on at least glancing at the trash show’s third episode, but it’s off this week anyway. Production issues two episodes in. Always a great sign.
Semi-Impressions:
I’m likely done here too. It remains… okay, but I’ve exhausted how much rock tidbits I find interesting, and the characters/story are on a loop. Maybe even more of an obnoxious one as the main thing this episode did was introduce a second character who’s a redux of Ruri. She’s overly excited about books. Just the concept of… books. Because they’re books. Which she announces and yells at everybody. It’s painfully forced. She ends up seeing some pretty rocks and is completely awestruck as well.
Possibly the most interesting part was the initial walkthrough of a campus. It lasted all of 15 seconds. Water bottles everywhere, people riding their bikes in buildings, dingy billboards in the halls with poor lighting and ancient posters. It looked like the animators had seen an actual college building. Well, I guess maybe there was also the whole mine schtick. Don’t go into abandoned mines! They’re dangerous! There’s tons of good stuff outside where it’s safe. *15 seconds later* Oops, we’re in the mine. It’s safe and THE AWESOMEST THING EVER! Mixed signals here, team.
