Is this really the first time it’s attempted to kill someone over crepe money?
Impressions:
I think this episode crossed the line to too childish for me. Both the monster’s schtick of being a corny wheel-blade thing, which is just as dumb as the multiple times Garo tried to do it, and it being really pissed off at a kid for taking the money that it threw at him. The kid thanked it, realized he was haunted immediately, and attempted to apologize, again immediately. So there wasn’t even any good reveals, twists or turns about what was really going on, or anything. It was just an idiot, crazed monster who lives right next to the local super popular crepe cart in the park downtown who decided to entrap some kid to murder them.
Nube wasn’t winning any points either, even acting as a more Batman like character to swoop in and save the day. He attempted to punch the thing straight in the blade and then wandered back off until it was time to punch it again, but this time, not in the blade. Shockingly, this was more effective and instantly defeated it so that they could… just stick it right back in its shrine next to the crepe cart. Really? Just a very poor showing from every character here, protagonist and monster of the week.
