Alma Wants a Family #11 — Recap Montage

Nothing says exciting like multiple clips montages.

Impressions:

Incredibly lame ending. The episode was for all intents and purposes a clips montage recap that got more montagey and more clipsy the further things went. So much more could’ve been done with the classic setup of “getting what you want, but oops, you learn it isn.” Instead, it’s just “mom and dad had to work late a couple times” so I miss when we were a real family, which only traditional Japanese suburb families are. Nor does pulling the classroom out of your ass as if they meant literally anything help. I’m pretty certain that the last time we saw them was when you Skynet’ed the school and then accidentally engineered a robot mass shooting of your fellow students. But sure. Here they all are to celebrate how much you mean to them despite five minutes ago, you again hijacking the school just for a show and tell on yourself.

At least it has the good graces to be over, even if it hasn’t been quite as bad lately as the vampire show, but the family drama was the weakest part, and spending the entire final episode completely abandoning the humor to do a cheap look back on only that is a godawful choice to end what was already a sub-mediocre show.
