SCARLET to screen at BFI IMAX in London as Early Preview Screening on 22nd January 2026

Those hoping to see SCARLET on the big screen before its nationwide debut next month can do so, as the BFI IMAX in London have partnered with Sony Pictures Releasing UK and Crunchyroll to screen the film on Thursday 22nd January 2026 at 6:15pm as an early preview event.

This early screening of SCARLET will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles and tickets can be purchased through the BFI website (with only a very limited amount of tickets remaining). As a reminder SCARLET is the latest anime film from director Mamoru Hosoda, who is known for films such as BELLE, MIRAI and SUMMER WARS, and features a story that will see a brave princess transcend time and space. Studio Chizu is animating the film, with it being co-financed by Sony Pictures and Nippon TV.

SCARLET is scheduled to screen in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from the 6th February 2026, with tickets expected to appear online for purchase soon, but this preview screening will be held on 22nd January 2026 at the BFI IMAX in London.
