A brand new trailer for Echoes of Aincrad, which is an upcoming JRPG game based on the Sword Art Online series, has recently been made available online and it gives fans a closer look at what they can expect from the story and gameplay of the game.
Based on the newly released trailer Echoes of Aincrad will focus on the players (player created character) journey within the Sword Art Online game, starting from the Closed Beta Test and leading in to the official release of the game. During this journey the player will make new enemies, and form a party, within the closed beta test before finding themselves thrust in to the death game that Sword Art Online fans will know in its official release. Familiar faces such as Argo, the information broker, Kirito, the beater, and Asuna, will also make an appearance, with Kirito acting more of an antagonist to the player due to wanting to play the game solo and unwilling to cooperate within a party.
About: Echoes of Aincrad invites adventurers into a dynamic and vibrant world filled with challenges and unforgettable encounters, becoming a “player” in the game through an extensive avatar customization will place them as the true hero of this story. As the story progresses through quests and missions, players will be able to adapt and upgrade their equipment, weapons, and attributes, and select special skills to match their preferred playstyle while growing stronger as they level up. But they will not journey alone, the outcome of real-time combat will also rely on the chosen partner for each outing, deciding the stance they should take during fight, more aggressive or supportive, and as that bond deepens, players will unlock their partner’s powerful abilities. Adventurers will explore diverse cities and beautiful environments, from serene plains to perilous dungeons filled with secrets, facing monsters and bosses that will test their skills and resolve until the end.
In short, the newly released trailer gives players an idea on what to expect from this alternative Sword Art Online experience, and from my perspective it looks to give players a different (but familiar) experience from their own viewpoint rather than Kiritos.
