Eastasiasoft continues its trend of releasing Idea Factory related titles with English language support in Asia, as recently the company announced that they will be releasing Death end re;Quest Code Z onto the Nintendo Switch. Death end re;Quest Code Z has previously been released in the west on PlayStation and Steam platforms.
So, once again, why exactly am I posting Asian-only game news on a UK outlet? Well that’s because the western (Europe and North American) release of the game was cancelled due to “not complying with Nintendo guidelines”. As such, this Asian release will be the only way to enjoy the game on Nintendo Switch platforms in English.
About: Take the role of Sayaka as she navigates the deadly Strain Area in an attempt to rescue her friends! Death end re;Quest Code Z is a dungeon RPG with 3D exploration, strategic turn-based combat, an engaging dialogue-driven narrative and numerous endings, many involving gruesome deaths that Sayaka must avoid if she hopes to succeed in her quest. Watch out for traps, strategize through enemy encounters and be mindful of each step you take, delving as deep as possible before insanity consumes you!
Iris was born in World DE-1, a world that mirrors Earth in the 2000s. With her birth, a series of tragic loops was set in motion, which were gradually unraveled by the efforts of Arata Mizunashi and his team. With her goodwill restored, Iris created a copy of World DE-1 named World DE-1.5. Here, feuds gave way to friendship, each person a perfect cog in a perfect world. But a new crisis now threatens the peace. A mysterious man has entered the fray, and he leads a group of people who look identical to the world’s former heroes. Our new hero, Sayaka Hiwatari, confronts the rising chaos, where friends and foes seem impossible to distinguish.
And so the battle with another world enters a new phase! Will you survive and escape?
In addition to the game being released physically (as a Standard Edition) and digitally (through the Nintendo eShop in Asia) a limited edition version will also be made available exclusively through Play-Asia. This Limited Edition will contain a copy of the game (on a physical cartridge) alongside a selection of interesting physical goodies, of which are outlined below.
Limited Edition content:
Physical copy of the game
Acrylic Standee
Art Book
Soundtrack CD
Joy-Con Decals
Mini Case
Numbered Certificate
As a reminder Eastasiasoft have previously released all three Neptunia Re;Birth games, as well as Hyperdevotion Noire, on to the Nintendo Switch in Asia with English language support. Death end re;Quest Code Z is considered a stand-a-lone game within the Death end re;Quest franchise, but the previous games were released on to the Nintendo Switch by Idea Factory International and Reef Entertainment.
A release date has not been mentioned, but this Asia release of the game will feature English and Japanese audio and English text support (and looks to be the same text/audio as released previously). Further details about this Asia release can be found on the official Eastasiasoft website.
