Arc System Works Co., Ltd. have recently revealed that the spin-off to the River City Girls franchise, known as River City Saga: Journey to the West, will launch digitally on 4th June 2026 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 & Steam. An official website has also gone live that offers a more detailed look at the game, its characters and gameplay.
River City Saga: Journey to the West draws heavy inspiration from the Chinese Novel, Journey to the West, as players take control of Kunio as either Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, and Tang Sanzang, and follows the footsteps of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but taking a slightly different approach. That’s not all thats different either, as the game is a solo roguelike action game where players grow stronger with each run and can obtain Secret Skills to apply to the character they take control of.
About: Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, and Tang Sanzang! All the main characters are Kunio!! A crazy comedic adventure where four Kunio set out to conquer Tianzhu!
