Aksys Games have recently confirmed that otome visual novel OVER REQUIEMZ will launch physically and digitally on the 20th August 2026 for the Nintendo Switch.. The game is developed by Kogado Studio, and published by Idea Factory in Japan, but is being localized and released by Aksys Games in North America and Europe with Reef Entertainment handling distribution in Europe.
In this visual novel experience players will find themselves transported into Oz, a faraway kingdom ruled by four witches and the king, after being caught up in a terrifying tornado. It’s the set-up for a story that sounds oddly familiar, and with good reason, as this game is considered a dark reimagining of the classic tale.
About: In a dark reimagining of the classic tale, high school student Yuhiru is swept up in a mysterious tornado and finds herself lost in Oz. There, she is unjustly sentenced to death and ordered to travel with four convicts on death row and their supervisor. Their goal? Mysterious ruins that look like home, only dilapidated and infested with monsters. At the mercy of her fellow travelers, Yuhiru will face many hard decisions along the way. But there’s one thing she must bear in mind: No one is lost forever, no matter how far they’ve strayed.
Those that purchase OVER REQUIEMZ through the Aksys Games Store will also receive a bonus soundtrack CD while supplies last. In the meantime OVER REQUIEMZ is set for a 20th August 2026 release in Europe and North America for the Nintendo Switch.
