Following on from the retail listings earlier this week Crunchyroll have now confirmed the release dates for all five seasons of Sailor Moon, and that they will be released on Blu-Ray as Steelbook Editions in the UK, starting with Season 1 on the 24th August 2026.
The release dates listed on Amazon UK were the actual release dates, and retailers such as Anime-On-Line, HMV, Rarewaves and Zavvi, have also now made each season available to pre-order. The confirmed release dates for each steelbook edition are as follows:
Sailor Moon: Season 1 – 24th August 2026
Sailor Moon R: Season 2 – 28th September 2026
Sailor Moon S: Season 3 – 26th October 2026
Sailor Moon SuperS: Season 4 – 30th November 2026
Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars – Season 5 – 11th January 2027
Crunchyroll have also confirmed that each Steelbook Edition will retail for £69.99 and include an exclusive holographic art card, with each card being unique to that season. The series will be released in its original (uncut) format in 4:3 aspect ratio, with episodes presented in both English (VIZ Media dub) and Japanese with English subtitles.
The excitement does not end there though, as in participating HMV stores across the UK you can share your excitement of Sailor Moon with others by taking a selfie with a Sailor Moon themed standee.
About Sailor Moon: Based on the manga of the same name by Naoko Takeuchi, Sailor Moon follows the adventures of middle school student Usagi Tsukino and her talking cat Luna. Luna grants Usagi the power to transform into a Pretty Soldier in order to defend the Earth from the forces of the Dark Kingdom alongside her fellow Sailor Soldiers.
Excitement aside, thanks to this confirmation from Crunchyroll, and the retail listings on Amazon UK, we now know that Sailor Moon will be released as individual season sets in steelbook form, starting with Season 1 on the 24th August 2026. The series will be released uncut in both English (using the VIZ Media English Dub) and Japanese and presented in its original 4:3 aspect ratio.
