If you’re curious how many meetings that Revenge Villainess show had in its second episode, the answer is 4, taking about 22 minutes in total. If you’re curious how much revenge she took, or how many times she used her magic books in any way, the answer is 0.
Impressions:
I may throw in the towel on Mondays. I’m glad this exists in a sea of cheat power reincarnation crap, but it’s still very yelly purely gag shounen. I’d point to shows like Keijo for being over the top sports-adjacent in a more fun and tolerable way, or Milky Holmes/Galaxy Angel as gag comedies. Too much of both the ‘humor’ and the story is just Danko yelling how she’s going to do her best, or try even harder, or be more fired up. Three new characters are introduced, but they too yell about how they’re going to be fired up. Or really horny. They go to a pool for training, and it’s barely more than a scenery and costume change. Some actual character focus and even a Scooby Doo level narrative would help immensely to keep episodes from feeling like twenty straight minutes of incoherent yelling.
