Needs more dismembering.
Of all the other Tuesday shows, this was the only one that was a tick upward in the right direction. That Street Fighter show does continue to be pretty funny for how it uses footage that doesn’t match the dialogue at all. “I’ll use my corner pressure to overwhelm her!” *throw tech at midscreen* “WHAT!? SHE ESCAPED THE CORNER!?” … “She used the i-frames on a wake-up super!? WHAT IS THIS CHAOS!? WHAT IDIOT WOULD DO THAT!?” *shows her doing it and it’s blocked without comment* And Victoria’s second episode was a fat load of nothing.
Impressions:
This did what the first episode was lacking and actually had a bit of child soldiering with dismemberments and such. If anything, it needed to lean more into that. Really show how reckless Mimi was in fights, and her going complete bloodthirsty berserker in response to that arm getting sliced off. The training parts were fairly well animated too though, and at least did a servicable job of showing the difference between Mimi and the other baseline competent students. Still wouldn’t have worked without some actual consequences though.
The problem continues to be the main character, who’s a pathetic whiff of sad sackitude. All she does is mewl, simper, and announce her powerlessness. If she was actually trying and failing, that’d be a different story, but it’s always her clutching her fist and bemoaning her helplessness. You gotta at least make an effort here. You could replace her with a teddy bear and nothing would suffer. Hell, might even improve without the creepy 11 year old discovers sex vibe it seems to love.
