The feature-length-film That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea, which is the second film in the franchise, is now available to stream on Crunchyroll in dubbed and subbed. This film previously received a limited cinema release across the UK earlier this year, and can now be watched at home with a Crunchyroll subscription.
Animated by Eightbit, and directed by Yasuhito Kikuchi, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea is a stand-a-lone film within the anime franchise and takes place after the events of Season 3. The story sees Rimuru and his companions as they visit a private resort island and encounter a new nation under the sea.
Synopsis: After concluding the opening ceremony of the Demon Kingdom Federation Tempest, Rimuru and his companions are invited by the Celestial Emperor Elmesia of the great elven nation – the Magi Dynasty Thalion – to visit her private resort island. As the group enjoys their brief vacation, a mysterious woman named Yura appears. A new incident unfolds against the backdrop of the boundless azure sea.
As mentioned the film received a limited cinema release across the UK earlier in this year, with preview screenings on the 29th and 30th April 2026 before its general release on the 1st May 2026. However despite being adertvised as both a dubbed and subbed release most cinemas only seem to show it in subbed format. Of course, with the film now available to stream on Crunchyroll you can now watch it in both dubbed and subbed format.
