Bandai Namco Entertainment have today announced, through the PlayStation State of Play, that GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will launch on 5th March 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.
In GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT players will take control of the Gundam Helix as ace pilot RE-X, joined by Vii, a Haro unit that serves as a general-purpose intelligent assist unit built specifically for the Gundam Helix. Together, they stand against the Apocalypse. The new trailer also introduces various characters including
Sofia, a mysterious young woman keeping watch on RE-X’s movements
April, captain of the Stellarvane, an independent special-duty vessel that carries out missions against the Apocalypse.
Paul, leader of a band of sand pirates who hunt the Apocalypse and raid wealthy transports to distribute supplies to settlers.
Elaine, a knight commander and exceptional Mobile Suit pilot who leads her forces from the front lines.
Combat in GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is also described as offering more customization, where players can customize their Mobile Suit around their preferred playstyle. Weapons, frames, thrusters, and Apocalypse Units (AP-U) can be fully changed as well as the colour scheme of the suit itself.
About: In GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, players will become a Gundam pilot in an original story set beyond the events of the anime. In this story, three revelations were delivered by the Autonomous Interstellar Object from another galaxy ushered in an age of unprecedented prosperity, allowing humanity to expand across the entire solar system. Gravity Control. FTL Communication. Cognitive Materialization. Yet less than ten years after its discovery, the Object that had delivered these three revelations suddenly ran rampant, spawning an aggressive, self-proliferating ecosystem. Humanity came to see this unknown ecosystem as the Apocalypse. For three months, humanity fought the Apocalypse to a standstill in orbit above Earth. Forced to abandon the planet, humanity marked that year as A.A. 1—the first year After Apocalypse. By A.A. 45, children born on the Moon and in space colonies have never known life without the Apocalypse. And on the lunar surface, a boy named Ray Azumi awakens.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is expected to be available physically and digitally, and Bandai Namco Entertainment have also confirmed the digital release details for standard and deluxe editions of the game.

As a reminder the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO will take place 100 years before the GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT game, and will act as the beginning of this worlds story. GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT meanwhile will tell the future of this worlds story. This newly combined worldview is being created by director Kenji Kamiyama and author Toh Enjoe and will offer a unique perspective of blending two different entertainment mediums to deliver one long narrative experience.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is in development by Bandai Namco Studios for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via Steam) release on 5th March 2027 with further details to be announced. Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO meanwhile will become available to stream in 2027 as well, with further details to be announced.
