The Pokémon Company, in partnership with Nintendo, have today revealed on social media that a physical “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” of Pokémon Legends: Z-A + Mega Dimension DLC will be released on the 29th October 2026.
This physical edition will contain Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the Mega Dimension DLC, and the Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Pack on a single cartridge. As this is a “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” the cartridge will be compatible with both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, meaning you can play the cartridge in either console with Nintendo Switch 2 console owners getting the benefits of improvement performance and visuals.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A:
Pokémon Legends: Z-A takes place place in Lumiose City which is divided between street and wild zones, and during this adventure players will take part in the Z-A tournament to become the best trainer in the city. Along the way rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon appear and as part of Team MZ it’s your job to uncover the mystery and return peace to the city. Will you become the strongest trainer and save the city from Mega-Evolved Pokémon, only time will tell.
Mega Dimension DLC:
In this DLC Trainers will encounter spatial distortions that act as dimensional gateways to a location known as Hyperspace Lumiose. Inside this area trainers will find newly discovered Mega-Evolved Pokémon and other Pokémon not usually found in Lumiose. Most notably is that some encounters will see Pokémon with levels higher than 100.
As part of this unique experience Donut chef Ansha and her companion, the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, will guide players as they explore Hyperspace Lumiose. Hoopa’s powers are awakened when it receives one of Ansha’s donuts, thus transforming the distortions into portals to hyperspace for you to warp through. Additionally Ansha can use Berries to create various kinds of donuts that grant different effects in hyperspace, such as powering up your Pokémon.
That’s not all, as trainers will be joined by new allies such as Korrina, a successor to a line of Mega Evolution gurus determined to encounter every Mega-Evolved Pokémon. Together with Team MZ, players will explore Hyperspace Lumiose, uncover its secrets, and tackle the strange events befalling Lumiose City.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A + Mega Dimension will be available physically on 29th October 2026, but in the meantime a digital bundle is available from the Nintendo eShop. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is also available for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 (as a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition) both digitally and physically and the Mega Dimension DLC can be purchased from the Nintendo eShop.
