Impressions:
I guess it’s time to say the one positive thing about a single one of the mountain of godawful cheat power RPG reincarnee blah blah blah. The protagonist here is at least baseline nonexistent as a character, which is absolutely a positive compared to what the norm is, there are zero harem elements in this episode, and it doesn’t do the corny super bully thing which has become so prolific that simply going back to the Arifureta/Shield Hero kind of schtick where it’s the EVIL KING taking advantage of them feels refreshing. Or maybe I’m just traumatized by this season at this point and I’m desperately looking for anything to praise, because I also know that he’s going to be framed for murder, which the LN descriptions lead with, so maybe that’s just a factor of godawful pacing.
But that’s where the praise runs out, because everything else is the usual garbage, complete with popup status screens showing how he has the big numbers and is therefore the best. And if he wasn’t the best before, after a quick montage, he certainly is. Production? My god, if you removed all the profile shots of him brooding, you’d lose a third of the episode, and it already is going slow enough, even with no actual intrigue since the king is literally announcing out loud to do evil and betray everybody for his evilness.
