100 METERS set for UK Cinema release on 16th November 2025

Anime Limited, otherwise known as AllTheAnime, have recently confirmed that the animated feature-length-film 100 Meters will screen in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 16th November 2025. Tickets for the film are also available to book online with more listings expected to be added leading up to the films release.

100 Meters is directed by Iwaisawa, animated by studio Rock’n Roll Mountain, and is based upon the manga of the same name by Uoto. The film will received its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025, during the Annecy Presents screenings, and was acquired shortly after by Anime Limited and PLAION Pictures for a UK, Ireland and French release. In America the film was licensed by GKIDS Entertainment.

Synopsis: Togashi is born to run. As a kid, he is naturally gifted and wins every 100-meter race without effort. But in sixth grade, he meets Komiya, a transfer student who is full of determination but lacks technique. In teaching him, Togashi gives Komiya a new purpose: to win no matter what. As years pass, Togashi and Komiya meet again as rivals on the track, revealing their true selves. Based on the manga by Uoto (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth), don’t miss this introspective yet adrenaline fuelled film directed by the award winning Kenji Iwaisawa (On-Gaku: Our Sound).

100 Meters will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles and it looks like it will receive a limited cinema release in the UK and Ireland, so if you are thinking of watching this film at the cinema then i’d suggest planning ahead to avoid disappointment. Either way, the 100 Meters is set to be released on the 16th November 2025 with tickets now available book online. Further details can also be found through the website.
