Pokémon Legends: Z-A “Mega Dimension” DLC Details Revealed Alongside Release Date and Diancie Mission

The Pokémon Company, in partnership with Nintendo, have today revealed new gameplay details Pokémon Legends: Z-A, as well as a release date and new information for the previously announced Mega Dimension DLC.

Mega Dimension DLC:

The Mega Dimension DLC will be released on the 10th December 2025 for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of the game. In this DLC Trainers will encounter spatial distortions that act as dimensional gateways to a location known as Hyperspace Lumiose. Inside this area trainers will find newly discovered Mega-Evolved Pokémon and other Pokémon not usually found in Lumiose. Most notably is that some encounters will see Pokémon with levels higher than 100.

As part of this unique experience Donut chef Ansha and her companion, the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, will guide players as they explore Hyperspace Lumiose. Hoopa’s powers are awakened when it receives one of Ansha’s donuts, thus transforming the distortions into portals to hyperspace for you to warp through. Additionally Ansha can use Berries to create various kinds of donuts that grant different effects in hyperspace, such as powering up your Pokémon.

That’s not all, as trainers will be joined by new allies such as Korrina, a successor to a line of Mega Evolution gurus determined to encounter every Mega-Evolved Pokémon. Together with Team MZ, players will explore Hyperspace Lumiose, uncover its secrets, and tackle the strange events befalling Lumiose City.

New Mega-Evolved Pokémon:

Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur will make their debut in Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension.
When Chimecho Mega Evolves, six smaller copies appear and flutter endlessly, even when no wind is blowing. When Chimecho cries, the echoes of its copies overlap and resonate, creating an intense sound-wave attack that can overwhelm any opponent.

Baxcalibur becomes even more formidable thanks to Mega Evolution, generating more ice energy and wielding a back blade that has grown larger and more powerful. With the sheer weight of this blade, it can cleave or smash nearly anything in its path. Players can obtain the Mega Stone needed to evolve Baxcalibur from the Z-A Battle Club as a reward for advancing in online Ranked Battles

Diancie and Diancite Stone Event:

Starting today (6th November 2025), players within Pokémon Legends: Z-A can claim a Diancite Stone which will grant players the oppurunity to obtain Diancie through a special quest known as the “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” quest.

To obtain the Diancite Stone players must claim the item through mystery gift, and then visit the Looker Bureau, where Mimi the Espurr—Emma’s partner Pokémon—will take a special interest in the Mega Stone, setting an extra side mission in motion. Completing this mission allows players to add Diancie to their team, then use the Diancite stone to Mega Evolve it into Mega Diancie, unveiling its radiant Mega Evolution in battle.

As a reminder Pokémon Legends: Z-A is now available for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 (as a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition) both digitally and physically. As a side note those who own the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Cartridge can play it on a Nintendo Switch console, but you will not benefit from the increased visuals and performance. The Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be available digitally on 10th December 2025,
