Updated listings at online retailers, such as Amazon UK and HMV, have revealed that the upcoming 4K UHD Blu-Ray Steelbook, Blu-Ray and DVD Editions of Wolf Children are now expected to be released on the 23rd February 2026 in the UK. The Deluxe Edition, which is expected to be an AllTheAnime Store Exclusive, and the other editions on the AllTheAnime Store still list the originally announced release date.
Originally all four releases of Wolf Children were announced for a 16th February 2026 release date through the AllTheAnime Blog Post, but updated retail listings are now suggesting that the Steelbook Edition 4K UHD Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray and DVD editions will be released on the 23rd February 2026.

Synopsis: Wolf Children is a staggeringly beautiful animated feature film from director Mamoru Hosoda (SUMMER WARS). This epic cinematic achievement follows Hana, a woman who falls in love with a Wolf Man and gives birth to two half human, half wolf children. After fate intervenes and a tragic incident occurs, Hana seeks refuge in a rural town where she attempts to build a life for herself – and her children.
It is unclear what has caused the release date to be changed at retailers, but it is safe to assume it is a production and delivery of stock to retailers issue, just like with the Naruto Shippuden sets and The Place Promised in our Early Days Steelbook. At the time of writing the release date listed on the AllTheAnime Store still suggests a 16th February 2026 release, but it’s not uncommon for the release date on the AllTheAnime Store to be incorrect when a product is quietly pushed back at retailers.
Either way at the time of writing Wolf Children is expected to be released on 4K UHD Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, and DVD from 23rd February 2026.
