70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X Hi-Res heads to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC on 16th July 2026

Bliss Brain Corporation have recently announced that a remaster of Geppy-X, which is an arcade-style 2D side-scrolling shooter action game, will be heading to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC on 16th July 2026 as 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X Hi-Res.

Reportedly the original PlayStation release spanned four discs and featured over 8,000 hand-drawn animation frames,which was truly an unprecedented production scale for a 2D shooter at that time. For this High Definition remaster the original Betacam master tapes have been re-digitized and animation has been fully restored to its original 24 frames per second. The game also recreates recreates the structure of a classic anime broadcast where each portion will have an opening and ending, with the contents of the game being controlled by you.

Geppy-X features a campaign mode as well as boss rush mode and alternate episodic content, additionally the original 1999 voice performances from some of Japan’s most respected and influential anime actors, including Akira Kamiya, Shō Hayami, Shūichi Ikeda, Ichirō Nagai, and Gorō Naya. Quality of life improvements include Rewind, Rapid Fire, Quick Save as well as CRT Filter functions.
