Impressions:
Oh boy. A flashback two parter. Nube, this is like the fourth flashback episode this season, and fifth dream world thing. I’m even giving a pass for the random girl to be saved since it was going to be some kid anyway. At least this one didn’t tragically sacrifice herself while telling him what a great teacher he would be like the last two. Which we had flashbacks to within the flashbacks. Maximal flashback inception here.
Even above and beyond that, this one felt especially dumb because they all know it’s in the past, we have multiple speeches about how we have to sit and watch it play out because it already happened, and they get all worked up and shocked about the most obvious things. The oni in his arm is… AN ONI! Oh no, he’s losing a fight against it! How will he ever overcome this!? I dunno, perhaps by sealing it in his arm.
