Impressions:
Aah, alcohol day. Only two new premieres, both about drinking. And completely opposites of each other. Weirdly, this is the more realistic one. Drinking is just a thing that people do. And college kids like to drink. Unfortunately, that’s also pretty much as far as any thoughts go. Girls exist. They get a bit flushed when they drink. That’s… pretty much it. No over the top instant super drunkery. No falling over each other for fanservicey panty shots. Not weirdly detailed wine tidbits. One of them hiccups a bit. That feels like an underserved fetish, but probably for a good reason. Same as the smoking one. Wow! You smoke! That’s so cool! It feels way weirder than it should be.
It’s… whatever. It’s not trying to make really obnoxious jokes, nor screaming at me, nor being excessively melodramatic, so I don’t feel like being too harsh after being subjected to so many of those, but aside from an entendre here and there, it’s hard to really say what the hook is meant to be. Obviously, that it has girls who are vaguely overly familiar with each other for maximal deniability, but that should really be a starting point, not ending. It probably would be far more interesting if it was a lesbian den of iniquity, but that’s true of almost every anime.
