New Anime

[OSHI NO KO] – Season 1 & SNOWBALL EARTH Available to Stream on Disney+ in the UK

The first season of [OSHI NO KO], which originally simulcast streamed on HIDIVE and then later added to Netflix and then Crunchyroll in the UK, is now available to stream on Disney+ in the UK. That’s not all, as the new anime series SNOWBALL EARTH is currently simulcast streaming on the Disney+ platform (in addition to Crunchyroll) in the UK with four episodes currently available to stream.

[OSHI NO KO], also wrriten as OSHI NO KO, became available to stream on Disney+ late last week and sees all 11 episodes from the first season available to watch in English & Japanese with English subtitles. It’s not yet known if the second season will be added, but it is pretty cool to see Disney+ expanding its anime selection.

[OSHI NO KO]: When a pregnant young starlet appears in Dr. Gorou Amemiya’s countryside medical clinic, he takes it upon himself to safely (and secretly) deliver Ai Hoshino’s child. But on the eve of her delivery, he is slain by Ai’s deluded stalker — and subsequently reborn as her child, Aquamarine Hoshino! Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry? And what will he do when disaster strikes?

As a reminder the third season of [OSHI NO KO] is currently simulcast streaming on Crunchyroll in Japanese with English subtitles with the other seasons available on HIDIVE and Netflix in the UK. A live-action version of [OSHI NO KO] is also available to stream on Amazon Prime in the UK.

SNOWBALL EARTH meanwhile is a brand new anime series animated by Studio Kai and is adapted from the manga by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu. The series began simulcast streaming as part of the current Spring season that started last week.

Synopsis: Tetsuo is a shy boy whose only companion is Yukio, a giant robot who once fought beside him to save Earth from invading monsters. Ten years after the final battle, Tetsuo returns home to a planet transformed—buried beneath endless snow and ice. In this frozen world, he sets out alone, holding tight to the promise he made to Yukio and searching for what remains of the world they once protected.

Naturally in order to stream these shows on Disney+ a valid Disney+ subscription, internet connection, and compatible device is required, but it is nice to see Disney+ expanding its selection of anime content in the UK. As a reminder the first season of Naruto was also added to the Disney+ platform this month.
